Regals FC got a pair of goals from Jose Chavez and one each from Jose Sibrian and Enrique Gonzalez to give the northsiders a difficult win over Ft Worth in Southern Premier Soccer League action at Maya Park in Houston.
What was supposed to be an easy victory turned into battle when Regals FC failed to get any separation from Ft Worth.
“This just goes to show you that anything can happen, it does not matter what happened in the last game or how good we think our team is, we got to play the game.” Regals FC head coach Miguel Landaverde said after the match.
Regals FC would like to extend a special thanks to Powerade for thier continued support.
Regals face Ft Worth
Regals FC takes on Ft Worth Innertunnel at 5:00 PM on Saturday at Maya Park.
Regals FC head coach Miguel Landaverde is excited about the match. “We need a big win in order to set the stage for a strong run for the Summer Cup.” Landaverde said on Friday.
Going into Saturday’s match with a 2-1 SPSL Summer Cup record, Regals FC is 12 points behind first place Rio Grande Valley with three games in hand. The bigger issue is the goal differential gap, the Ocelots are already plus 23 over six matches. Regals FC is showing a plus 6.
“We sent a short crew to Brownsville earlier this summer and that was a mistake, we lost 3-0, and the Ocelots have been scoring a ton of goals. We have our work cut out for us.” Landaverde added.
Innertunnel, on the other hand, got ran over at home by the Houston Hurricane, 9-0, at their last outing.
“We are not looking at the Hurricane blow out as any indication of what Ft Worth has, we have to go into the match with our best game. This is a crazy game and anything can happen.” Landaverde concluded.
